This isnt a funny poem to me its just reality. I heard this on sopranos, had to look the song up and someone mention john cooper clarke is fron salford. All the towns round here look the same. Lads from wigan to rochdale to and liverpool, all had the same experiences we just have different accents. Still in a club theirs fucking girls eith fucking guys with fucking murder in their eyes and people getting stabbed just waiting for a kebab

I love 'Evidently Chickentown' - Pure class, love the rhythm. JCC is a very talented wordsmith. Real people will still be loving this poem in 100 years. Got to be 'fucking' for me btw - so much more zing and impact with it. The whole piece ends brilliantly, last couple of lines. Wonderful.
